1. Sound Design and Original Audio

High Life
00:00 / 02:52

High Life (2020) is an original song written, recorded, and produced for a royalty free music library. This library aims to provide a variety of genre specific songs for content creators to use.

Go-to
00:00 / 03:32

Go-to (2019) is an original song written, recorded, and produced using custom self made samples and Logic X Pro. I started with recording the opening of a soda can and went from there.

Flavors
00:00 / 05:00

Flavors (2020) is an original song written, recorded, and produced using custom self-made samples in Logic X Pro.

The Street
00:00 / 03:50

The Street (2018) is a soundscape created by combining audio of performances by street musicians I recorded while traveling in Europe with audio from the web of recent protests in the same areas. The street is a site of public display and shows the juxtaposition between musical and demonstrative performance.

The Birds
00:00 / 01:22

The Birds (2019) is an original song written, recorded, and produced using self made samples and Logic X Pro. Inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds," the soundscape combines manipulated bird calls with electronic elements to emulate the feeling of fear when birds attack in the film.

Russ Riding
00:00 / 02:15

Russ Riding (2020) is a musical sketch inspired by the sight and sound of galloping horses in the Eurasian steppe. I recorded and cut my father's vargan (jaw harp) playing with drums, bass, and other self made samples in Logic X Pro.

2. Video

Working in Pure Data (2020)

In this video, I demonstrate some uses of the visual programming language, Pure Data. I create a visual representation of what a song can look like by presenting an interactive performance patch. The patch consists of a beat loop that can be composed by triggering an array of original samples including voice, drums, guitar, synth, beatboxing, and bass.

From Sound to Music (2020)

In this video, I show how sounds from the environment can be used to create music. This is one example of how I build my songs. The song created with the organ in St. Peter's church is called "Cinematic" and is available on Spotify @PhiloSofie.
